Submission Guidelines

WHY SUBMIT TO BSW CHRONICLES?

Black Superwoman Chronicles is a space for black women to speak their truths as authentically as possible. This space is committed to sharing the voices of black women in a multitude of artistic outlets. We are grateful that you chose this space, and we welcome you into the family.

VISUAL ARTS

We accept photography, drawings, paintings, etc. along with your submission of your work we ask that you include why it resonated to you and how it connects back to the black woman experience

OPINION PIECES

Your opinions matter and we want to hear them. Submit pieces that tackle current events that relate to black women.

POETRY & SHORT STORIES

We accept all types of poetry from narrative to haiku to free verse.

PERSONAL ESSAYS

A place to share your experience as a black woman, and use your transparency to help others.

WHAT WE PUBLISH

Black Superwoman Chronicles looks to publish content centering around the following topics:

  • Mental Health 

  • Motherhood

  • Race, Equity, and Equality 

  • Work 

  • Relationships - Including Friendship and Family

  • Self Improvement and Reflection

when to submit

We accept submissions at the beginning of the month from the 11th to the 15th of the month. Use the SUBMIT page to share your work with us. 

NOTE: Contributors are not paid for their submissions, they will be promoted on our all of media outlets.

We accept unpublished and previously published work as long as you link back to the original source where the work was posted.

Utilize tools like Grammarly to review your work before submitting

Please make sure all images are properly captioned!

no guarantee

We don’t guarantee that we will publish what you send us. Each submission is carefully reviewed, but we will try to get to every submission as they come in and align with our message.

We can only grow our community with your help! We expect all submitters to be active in the role of sharing their work and the work of other artists.

This site does not condone any hate language. We may not all agree, but this is a safe space for those that identify as a black woman.
